​What does this service do? 

Assistive Technology and Services can enhance a person's ability to live an independent and meaningful life in their home and community based on the person's needs and goals. This service may help you to improve your communication skills, social interactions, community integration, and meaningful relationships.  

Assistive Technology includes devices and equipment that helps you maintain or improve how you function in life. This service also includes an assessment of your technology needs and helps to select, get, use, and maintain the technology​. It also includes training on the use of assistive technology.

Examples may include: 
  • Speech and communication devices
  • Visual or hearing support
  • Devices for computer and telephone use
  • Computer applications
  • Alarm systems
  • Adapted toys and specialized equipment
  • Training on the use of the technology ​
